Gymnasium Physiotherapy

The name of Gymnasium Füsioteraapia (physiotherapy) is derived from the greek word “gymnásion, which in Ancient Greece was used for training grounds and facilities of athletes competing in public games. In addition to being a place of physical training,  gymnásions also served a different purpose – that of education. In Ancient Greece, gymnásions held lectures about medicine, philosophy, literature and various other subjects.

In the spirit of the gymnásions of Ancient Greece, Gymnasium Füsioteraapia is also not only an establishment devoted to the development and preservation of health, physical capabilities and the body as a whole – it is also an establishment that considers education as a core part of its’ service. The core belief and foundation of all services provided at Gymnasium Füsioteraapia is that in order to truly recover from injury or any form of chronic illness is to establish and understand the following:

  • which structure in the body is not as it should be;
  • what has caused this deviation from the norm;
  • what mechanisms and adaptations can be used to reverse and improve these issues.

Therefore, one of the most important parts of the Gymnasium physiotherapy process is to educate the client about the health-related issue at hand in a manner completely comprehensible and relatable to the client, regardless of his/her background, age and earlier knowledge on the subject.

Since 2015, I have been working as a physiotherapist, strength & conditioning coach and masseur with clients of various age, level, illnesses, restrictions and needs – from a trauma patient recovering from surgery all the way to a competitive athlete. I have worked as a strength & conditioning coach in various swimming teams, providing young athletes with my physiotherapy and S&C coach services in both a training and competition setting. In addition to that, I have worked at the MyFitness chain of gyms and wellness clubs as a group and personal trainer and physiotherapist.
